Often, life seems to be running along smoothly, and then something happens. It could be a personal or professional relationship that has gone wrong, or your kids entering a new developmental phase, and now you have parenting concerns, you worry as you see your parents getting older and needing more help, or you do not quite know what’s wrong, but you seem to be worrying all the time, and because of the worry, you can’t sleep, feel tired, don’t enjoy the things you once did, and maybe feel unhappy or disengaged. This is where Darling Psychology can help. Through telehealth in Huntington Beach, California, we can help you take steps to reconnect to your inner strength, heal, energize, and realize your best future. At Darling Psychology, we take a modern, integrated, strength-based, and “mental health first” approach by providing the following services:

Assessment
During the first session, our doctors will talk with you to help better understand what issues you are facing. This is a cooperative process that is focused on learning about you as an individual, including your strengths, resources, and interests. We will also have you fill out some questionnaires that help us better understand your experience. Maybe you’re having difficulty sleeping due to worry. Or, you might have lost interest in some of the activities and relationships you once enjoyed. Knowing these things can better help us help you. At the end of the process, we will let you know how we think we can help and listen to what you hope to achieve from therapy. Together, we will form a client-centered, “you first” plan that maps out your first steps.
Treatment
In the treatment phase, we will work with you toward your goals to reconnect you to that sense of balance and well-being in your life. Our doctors use industry best practices, including Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, and Trauma-Informed Treatment. And we focus on the whole person, including the physical, mental, social, emotional, and spiritual you. The best part of working with our doctors here at Darling Psychology is that you decide the direction that is right for you, and we help you get there.
Time Off Work
Most of us agree that it is important to put health first. At Darling Psychology, we do too, and we think that mental health and emotional wellbeing are just as important as physical health. So, when you are struggling with life’s rough issues, we want you to take the time that you need to get your life back on track. We believe that treatment should not be crammed into an already busy schedule or be one more thing for you to juggle in an already hectic day. Our doctors believe that time off work helps you put your mental health first. Time off work gives you time to reconnect with your support network and reconnect to your healthy activities.
California Short-Term Disability
We understand that while you are focusing on treatment, you still need to pay the bills. During the assessment, our doctors will determine whether CASTD is an option for you, and our friendly office staff will help direct you through the filing process. Human Resources Paperwork
In addition to Short-Term Disability Insurance through the State of California, you may have additional short-term disability benefits through your employment package at work. These benefits may include supplemental income. You can also benefit from FMLA protection while you are in treatment. Our office staff is happy to receive short-term disability and employer forms directly from your human resources department, process those forms through our doctors, and return the forms to correct entities. This is another way that we allow you to focus on your treatment and put your mental health first.
